Hansi has bridged the academic and industry worlds for over 20 years as an adjunct professor at UW-Madison and a leader in vaccine initiatives worldwide. Her most recent venture has been as vice president and head of Discovery Research at Takeda’s vaccine business unit.

Hansi received her PhD in microbiology and immunology at Northwestern University Medical and Dental Schools.

Hansi has been part of the flagship Master of Science in Biotechnology program for many years teaching and lecturing for the Early Drug Discovery course. Her new role with the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs in Biotechnology Certificate program will focus on leadership in both areas.
